Review:
I really enjoyed reading Waiting with Elmer. As soon as I picked it up, I fell in love with the wonderful people of Waitnsee. I loved how the characters changed and grew in their faith over the course of the book. They seemed so real and so easy to relate to. I really felt sympathy for Willy as he learned to trust the people of Waitnsee and to trust God. I loved the lesson the book taught that God will always lead you down the right path. The book also deals with issues that today’s teen deals with like fitting in, making friends, and standing up for yourself. The plot was easy to follow and full of suspense, which made the book hard to put down! I would recommend this book for preteens to young adults who enjoy engaging stories with historical settings. If you like stories that bring American history to life or stories that encourage your faith, then this is the book for you.
