Christmas Wordsmiths
This Christmas Eve, 2015, the world is troubled, just as it was the first Christmas. People were anxious then too, fearful, distrustful, suspicious, worried. And many years in between have reoccurred in that state of distress. Famine, drought, disease, war, terrorism in many forms have accompanied us through generations of Christmases. Yet, we move forward, hopeful, eager in our faith, joy-filled in salvation, trusting God to be with us another year. Hope, a big gift shared by all Christians, is at its shiny-best at Christmas. Enjoy this poem and song by writer John Lennon written Christmas 2009. Merry Christmas to all.
So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over
If you want it
War is over
Now...
