Selling Books will resume after the 14th Station of the Cross for Lent.
Sixth Station of the Cross, Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
The noise of the crowd is deafening, distracting. It convinces others to join in. I don’t want to join them. I’m jostled and tempted. Veronica steps out from the crowd. A woman, unafraid, almost daring the soldiers to stop her. She comes close to Jesus and tenderly wipes the sweat and blood dripping off his face. A simple act of compassion.
Pray:
We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Meditation:
A simple act of compassion, charity, kindness. When all the world around us is clambering in harshness, selfishness and evil, it is hard to keep our balance, to stand defiant and do what our hearts tell us to do. I want to be like Veronica for only with our hearts can we really see Jesus. Only love enables us to recognize God who is love.
Walk:
Someone today needs my simple act of compassion, charity and kindness. I will step forward and offer what I have to make their walk easier.
