The Virginia Eastern Shore
The Eastern Shore has diverse populations of water fowl, deer, sea creatures and people. Of the people the Watermen are the closest to being what we call " native" to the area, followed by the farmers of soybeans, tomatoes, green beans, cotton and corn.
One is never far from the sea on this narrow neck of Virginia that somehow separated from the mainland in another geological era. The seagulls soaring gracefully above, dipping and diving on the air currents, the tall grasses rustling in the sea breeze, the aqua sea glass lying on the sand waiting to be found, are reason enough to cross that mighty bridge.
It's not always JUST about selling books.
