Another year over, a new one’s just begun…
I’ve been a few months now without writing anything other than two mini blogs every week. But, in my files I have work in various stages in the writing process, waiting. Another week. Epiphany. The tree comes down, decorations put away. And then, I’ll begin again.
Last year Blue-Eyed Doll, McIntosh Summer, and Walker Hound of Park Avenue all released. In addition, Beth’s Backyard Friends came out in Spanish edition, and The Mysterious Life of Jim Limber and McIntosh Summer both added classroom study guides. It was a good year for publication. But, books don’t sell themselves. The more books, the more marketing. I drove 17,000 miles to sell 2,000 books.
Looking ahead for the next year, the third Little Beth book will be ready. SPOKES, a young adult novel, will release early in the year. In various stages of production in the file are Waiting with Elmer, Spirit the Little White Reindeer, Rebecca & Heart, and The Bolivian Shoe Shine Boys. And, yes, I’ll continue to travel and market the ones already out, and begin working on the one simmering in that part of my brain. I enjoy what I’m doing and plan to keep doing it until the year it stops being fun.
So, to all of you who so kindly read my mini blog – over 100 of you every single day in 2016 – and those who buy my books, thank you. I write for you. I hope you’ll continue to read my adventures selling books, learning and laughing with me. I especially hope you enjoy the books. I appreciate your friendship and your author-support.
I hope you are looking forward to the New Year with joy and optimism. I wish you health, happiness, and prosperity, with God ever beside you.
