Walking with a Purpose
Our restoration expert, Dawson, told me, “It’s a time-honored Southern Tradition. Porch ceilings are painted light blue. Some believe it keeps bugs from bothering on the porch. Others believe it keeps spirits from entering the home. Whatever! You should paint it light blue.” We took a drive in his restoration truck around the town and saw the blue ceilings. So today we went walking, taking note.
I hope it’s true about the insects. But I’m pretty certain the protection from ghosts is accurate. I’ve met a lot of folks in a short time and none have mentioned having to put up with a resident haint. But, about everyone I’ve met would definitely have welcomed the Holy Spirit in their home. I think that proves definitively that the Holy Spirit is color blind.
I’ll be leaving early to go to Raleigh to fly to Dallas for the TLA. Dave and Buddy are going back to the mountains. We’ll be back here next weekend and will see the progress. It’s really coming along. And yes, we will have light blue ceiling on the sitting porch.
