* Most alike: the folks in the Dakotas have the same colloquialisms & mannerisms as Michigan

* Best shopping trip: those who know me are wondering how a shopping trip made my list. At the famous Wall Drugs I found the perfect table cover for my soon-to-be-released book.

* Prettiest:magpies, waxwings and pheasants

* Greenest: ( in ecology, not color) the cleanest state of Montana
* Longest pioneering: distances between services and gas station outhouses
* Newest concepts, for me: chain up areas and hay stackers
* Most appreciative of: my husband who drove the 3060 miles in 9 days of sightseeing
* Most cooperative: the weather
