Moving Ahead with Optimism
Our oldest daughter and her husband left their home and professions in Washington D.C., to open a café and bakery in River Dunes, Oriental, NC. They are driving to their new home today full of optimism for an exciting new phase of their life together. Two of our grandsons will graduate from high school this spring, one will report immediately after to Great Lakes Naval Station. Both move into adulthood with optimism.
Our little great-granddaughter, four, came from Georgia with her Mimi and Pops, our son and daughter-in-law. She is a lesson for us all in moving ahead with optimism. She walked in wearing a big smile and gave hugs to everyone. Then she rubbed the arms of her cousins and giggled, “I’m so happy to be here!” She placed her gift under the tree for a cousin, and looked up at the tree. She hugged herself and said, “Oh, this is going to be soooo great!”
I hope wherever you are this first Monday of this New Year, you can look in the mirror, hug yourself, and proclaim, “This is going to be soooo great!” Move ahead with optimism.
