Getting the Write Right
Our keynote speaker, Dani Shapiro, was so affirming I wish I had a recording of everything she said. I have something better. I have her book, Still Writing, The Perils and Pleasures of a Creative Life. (ISBN 978-0-8021-2141-7; $14.) For every writer who thought she was “alone,” “not smart enough,” “has nothing to write about,” “too overwhelmed by life,” this book’s for us. For any marketer who thought she didn’t know how to start, this book can affirm you, too. My miniblog tip today is get this book and read it. You will enjoy it, and you’ll be reenergized in your work.
I’ll be making a cold call tomorrow at the Toy Store here in Ridgefield with my two picture books after presenting to the St. Stevens Episcopal Preschoolers, then the Story Hour at the lovely library.
I’m eager to get home on Tuesday to get back to work with a clear design for what I need to do to polish my current YA. Thank you to the YA Critiquers at The Ridgefield Writers Conference.
