Selling Books will resume after the 14th Station of the Cross for Lent.
The Fifth Station of the Cross
Walk:
The burdens are great. Jesus can’t go on. A soldier grabs a stranger from the crowd to help Jesus. Jesus’ humiliation and helplessness are now complete.
Meditation:
How difficult it is to accept help when we need it. I see it at the nursing home with my mother. Strong, independent adults have become like weak children. It is so hard for them to accept a bed pan or a spoon of soup from a stranger who tries to ease their burden. When I am that stranger, I must ask for grace to do that job without adding to their humiliation and helplessness. When I am that child, I must trust that stranger.
Pray:
We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.
Walk:
I will walk in grace knowing I can help someone, and also be able to humbly accept that help when I need it.
